     We are fortunate and remote enough to have a number of designated wild areas established in the elk range.  These consist of the Quehanna Wild Area, the Johnson Run Natural Area, the Lower Jerry Run Natural Area, the Wykoff Run Natural Area, the Pine Tree-Trail Natural Area, and the Marion Brooks Natural Area.  Virgin and old growth stands of White Pine, Hemlock, and various hardwoods can be seen in these areas, as well as an almost pure stand of white birch.
